The World Series travels across the Atlantic for the fourth stop
This event will be LIVE on September 03 from 15.00 local time (20.00 GMT) on www.redbullcliffdiving.com, Red Bull TV and Facebook.
After kicking off the 2016 season, Hell's Gate at Possum Kingdom Lake in the USA state where everything is bigger, Texas, hosts the world's most elite cliff divers going into the second half of the current season.
From Europe, the World Series travels across the Atlantic to the visual feat of two towering cliffs, rising dramatically out of the region's first water supply reservoir, where 14 men and 8 women (including wildcard divers) will vie for victory. In a venue where Australian wildcard and World Series debutante and later overall champion, Rhiannan Iffland, thrilled the crowds in 2016 as she put in a magical diving display and upset the odds with a stunning victory.
Nestled deep in the valley of the Palo Pinto Mountains lies Possum Kingdom Lake. This massive reservoir, created by damming the Brazos River, is unlike any other lake in Texas. With its incredibly deep waters and its sheer cliffs, "PK" Lake is a vacation paradise. At its midpoint lies the iconic Hell's Gate, a rock formation adjacent to Devil's Island, which is full of as much beauty as it is folklore. Given the flatness of the surrounding terrain, the 30-metre cliffs dwarf even the biggest boats that pass through. Only the divers can add more breath-taking moments to this natural wonder with their complex manoeuvres from almost three times the Olympic diving platform height.
