Promising Brit Aidan Heslop has bright future ahead after Italy debut

In a season where records have consistently been broken, it was fitting that the 2018 finale in Polignano a Mare saw the much anticipated debut of the youngest diver to ever compete in the sport.  Having been on the radar of the sports committee for the past few years, 16-year-old Aidan Heslop of the UK finally took his first competitive leap from the 27m platform in front of a passionate crowd at the home of European cliff diving.

The Plymouth resident, who represented Wales at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia, says he has been working towards this moment for most of his diving career and many in the sport believe he has the potential to become one of the top contenders in a few years' time.

And judging by his debut on the Adriatic, it looks like the teenager certainly has what it takes to succeed.
