Behind every majestic leap lies a whole lot of science

Cliff diving is often seen as a form of art, with divers leaping gracefully from a platform and manoeuvring their body and limbs into beautiful positions before vanishing into the water as if by magic. But behind the art lies a whole lot of science. Height, speed and g-force, as well as aerial awareness, timing and physical strength all play a huge role in creating the most perfect, aesthetic and, of course, safe dives.
