Never has a season been more befitting of the motto 'never give up' than the 2017 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series.
Jonathan Paredes came into the season armed with a new and improved dive, but he struggled to master his weapon in the early stops. The Mexican was determined not to give up though, and his perseverance paid off as he gradually got to grips with it, eventually pipping 6-time champion Gary Hunt to the title with the very last dive of the season.
Rhiannan Iffland was cruising towards her second World Series title in a row until a nasty knee injury in the penultimate event threatened to derail her. But the Australian refused to give in and battled bravely through the pain at the finale in Chile to score an unbelievable victory and secure the King Kahekili Trophy once again.
Two stunning tales of endurance, courage, belief and perseverance.
In this 2018 season preview Jonathan Paredes, Rhiannan Iffland and Gary Hunt discuss the highs and lows of 2017 and look ahead to what is sure to be an exciting and dramatic 10th anniversary season.
