Three seconds of free-fall punctuated by astonishing acrobatic manoeuvres, followed by a puff of vapour as they rip beautifully into the water; the world's best cliff divers may make this feat look easy, but in truth there are many ingredients that go into constructing the perfect cliff dive. Countless hours of practice and mental preparation are needed if a diver wants to see the judges flashing tens at them upon surfacing, and without a strict and grueling training regime it's simply impossible to compete at the highest level in this sport.
