Gary Hunt (UK)
"I walked around the town yesterday and it's amazing. The architecture is amazing and there are sculptures everywhere. Looking at the platform, it's almost perfect, with not much wind and flat water, so the conditions are ideal for competition. I'm here to win and I don't want to leave any possible opening for anyone. I want to wrap up the title here. I've trained well today – I did one of each of my four dives and was reasonably happy with them. I like to do one of each so that I can sleep at night and not be left worrying about one of the dives."

Artem Silchenko (RUS)
"I feel very well and the power is coming back in my diving. A lot of people came today to watch training and that's an amazing feeling. It will be crazy for the competition with many thousands of spectators. After my arm injury, I had to do my armstand dive again from the beginning and that's a big thing for me."

Blake Aldridge (UK)
"I was a little bit nervous before training today. We've been without a competition for the past five weeks and I've been nursing some injuries, but I've been in the gym working hard and training hard. I got up there and killed my new dive – a triple half – so I'm really happy. The setting here is beautiful, the platform's solid, there's not really any wind – which has been a challenge all year – and we're set for the best conditions and possibly the biggest crowd we've had all year. My main aim is to be top-five this year and pre-qualify automatically for next year. A podium here might be enough to do that, so hopefully I can string four good dives together and get back on the podium."

Jonathan Paredes (MEX)
"The Azores was a tough place for me and I've come to Bilbao with big expectations to finish in the top three. I've come here to do what I know I can do. We know it will be a close competition because we have flat water and stable conditions. It's looking really good for Saturday! Gary we know is a tough guy and he has a big lead in the standings, but I will try to do my best."
