The 2020 World Series begins in paradise
The 12th season of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series will kick-off in stunning style when the sport's elite athletes travel to a brand-new location in beautiful Bali for the first of eight stops. Once again, the fight for the King Kahekili gets underway in one of the world's most exotic settings, where the men and women will get to showcase their skills in two paradisiacal spots – Aling Aling Canyon & Nusa Penida.
Located in the far North of Bali, Aling Aling Canyon provides a perfect setting for the season's first leaps. The nature-made playground abounds with waterslides and impressive waterfalls, with the tallest being 35 meters high. The surrounding scenery, with lush green hills and rice fields, showcases the natural beauty of Bali. Round 1 will take place at Kroya Waterfall, before the action moves to the nearby Aling Aling Waterfall for round 2.
From lush greenery to pure white sands, the competition moves south to Nusa Penida's Kelingking Beach for the final two rounds, where the athletes will execute their most complex dives into the ocean. Framed by towering limestone formations, deep turquoise blue waters and powdery white sand, the small secluded beach sits on a relatively undeveloped island south-east of mainland Bali. Access to the beach isn't easy, with the options being a steep cliffside climb or a direct journey by water.
An exciting season opener awaits the 24 cliff divers in paradise.
