Cliff Diving Returns to its Roots

Ginger Huber in Azores
The world's best divers will spread their wings straight from the rocks in Portugal's Azores

It doesn't come any purer than this, as the third stop of the 2016 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series takes the men and women back to the roots of the sport at Portugal's Azores islands. This unique volcanic archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean serves as the take-off point for awe-inducing cliff dives for the fifth consecutive time for the men and, after last year's huge success, a female competition will again be held on Vila Franca do Campo islet offshore from São Miguel. Watch the clip and prepare for the world's best cliff divers to spread their wings straight from the rocks, just like the pioneers did in Hawaii almost 250 years ago.
