It's been six years since the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series last landed in Norway, and this highly anticipated return marks the start of the second half of the 2020 season. Back in 2014 it was the charming little town of Kragerø that played host to world's best cliff divers, and now they will have the chance to dazzle thousands of fans right in the heart of the capital city, Oslo.

The Oslo Opera House, home of the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet and the national opera theatre, provides the platform for the athletes as the battle for the King Kahekili Trophy heats up. It is the first time the building has been used for a sporting event.

One of the most wonderful things about Norwegian nature is that it is free and accessible to everyone. The new Opera House, which was inaugurated in 2008, is an extension of that idea, and the roof rises like an iceberg at the head of the Oslo fjord.

The angled exterior surfaces of the building are covered with marble from Italy and make it appear to rise from the water, and the sight of cliff divers descending majestically into the fjord will only serve to enhance an already picturesque scene.

The roof of the building angles to ground level, creating a large plaza that invites pedestrians to walk up and enjoy the panoramic views of Oslo. The roof is also an amphitheater and provides a perfect view of the outdoor scene. Here, there are many events such as concerts and outdoor performances during the summer season.

In front of a huge crowd this summer, 24 cliff divers will put on their very own spectacular outdoor performance from up to 27m.

We are proud to have Renault Norway as the main national partner.
