The 38-year-old fought Rhiannan Iffland all the way in 2016, but her progression was halted by a neck injury that forced Lysanne Richard to miss the whole of 2017. A brilliant comeback in 2018 was capped with a win in Switzerland, and it was no surprise to see the mum-of-three finish in the top 3 five out of six times last summer.
Despite missing one event due to her recurring neck problems, the Canadian secured third place for the second season running.
What always helps her rehabilitation process and supports her positivity is her meditation routine. "I use that time to connect with myself; I try to meditate every day for a short amount of time. This is really about mindfulness and complete presence, conscience, and it has helped me to heal," explains the winner of three individual stops.
Coming almost out of nowhere, the graduate from National Circus School of Montreal and former character at Cirque du Soleil took the challenges of propelling herself from the 21m-platform in acrobatic grace with a focused smile ever since her first start in 2014. 14 podium finishes in just 22 starts make for a good share and Richard a candidate for the overall Women's World Series crown.
